LAGOTTO ROMAGNOLO  is very old breed appred in XVI century for first time at valley inside an Italy. It first purpose was to apport game birds. Thick curly hair, volly structure enabled swiming in cold wather while get a game birds. Drauning swamp valleys of Romagna as it’s first place of begining, Lagotto has changed and approach to other parts of Italy.

     Thanks to his especially strong smell, starts to use like a dog for truffle searching. As time goes, his hunthers insticts be come lower so Lagotto got specialized for truffle searching. It’s become most present in areas of Toscana, Lombardia, Romagna which are places with lot’ of truffles.

    Lagotto Romagnolo was admited 1995. by FCI. Today, beside his ability in truffle searching, they are popular across the world as pets, dogs for company and play. The most important reason of it’s expandig are genttle and lively nature, as the fact they don’t molt and haven’t any specific smell so they are ideal for home pets. In the caracter , they are lively, friendly, inteligent, abedient. They learn so easy, excellent for kids and life in family. They agree with other dogs and animals without agresion. Although they mostly live in houses and flats, they like a walk in nature, especially on lake or river where their love for wather become expressive.
